Kokoro Connect: A few words

Iori: "an I've concluded that we have a serious lack of erotic and dangerous material."

I comepletely concur. More power to this girl!

Kokoro Connect is one of the best series this season. In fact, it is one of the best shows I’ve seen. The plot is a new idea (or at least I cannot recall any similar series), it is funny, dramatic and adorable.

The series is the first one I know that has body swapping and uses it to narrate the story of the five main characters. It starts out more on the funny side and slowly develops into more or less dramatic situations, but is still maintaining a degree of comedy. To those of you who weep easily: This can be a tearjerker anime at times.

Iori: "Which one of us (Iori and Inaba) would you rather see strip, Taichi?"

Opportunities. Some only come once in a lifetime. I love how they both have such a straight face while asking that.

Body swapping, of course, becomes especially interesting if a boy and a girl switch bodies, which happens frequently in Kokoro Connect, as the affected people are three girls and two guys (Himeko is the most awesome girl btw). Taichi’s first reaction when he switches bodies with Iori is what most, if not all, of us guys would first think of and do given the opportunity ;)

“but of course I could never tell you that I actually do…”

Taichi in Iori's body, fondling her breasts.

The voice actors do a very good job in this anime. They have to adjust the personality without changing the voice, since the voice is part of your body. This is a difficult task and they do it well.

But the best part about the show is how well it all fits together. Since they (normally) cannot control the time at which they switch bodies, this also means that they can drop in to a conversation they didn’t follow or during any other activity. This, of course, means that you cannot avoid learning of problems or secrets the others have. This, in turn, can lead to ugly situations and the series really makes use of that.

On a side note, just imagine suddenly switching bodies during… “health care sessions” would be the ultimate comedy and possibly drama situation in the anime, though I doubt that will ever happen ;)

I don’t think I need to say any more…

Hyouka episode 1

Chitanda Eru: "I can't stop thinking about it!"

Me neither. Those eyes are mesmerizing. Chitanda Eru = moe queen this season

Chitanda Eru hair-raping Oreki Houtarou

Hair rape! This is new in (non hentai) anime. Anpan approves!

So Hyouka, along with Accel World, seems to be my favorite anime this season. So much moe, so much cuteness and a main character I can really relate to. At first I thought: “Oh god, it’s about a classics club, how boring is that?”, however, I enjoyed it very much.

The general setup seems to be case-of-the-week-like, with Houtarou, the protagonist, as some kinda lazy detective and Eru as the heroine that must be saved from whatever evil is out there.

All in all Hyouka is a funny, interesting and moe-filled anime. You just want to hug Eru <3

Sankarea ep 1: Necrophilia has never been this cute?

Seriously, just when you think you’ve seen it all, god slaps you in the face with this.

Mero has ZEH EYES

Mero has ZEH EYES! “There’s no use trying to hide it, I make you horny!” Chihiro: “YADA!!! I only love zombies!”

Apparently this series is about some sick fuck who has a zombie fetish. Talk about weird shit.

Chihiro is in deep shit

Chihiro is in deep shit. Serious business.

Rea is being generous

Opportunities. Some only come once in a lifetime

So Chihiro’s cat dies and gets buried and he decides it’s a good idea to dig up the grave, put the corpse on ice and try to revive it as a zombie?! Yeah right. Genius idea. While flipping through an old book about resurrection magic, he overhears bishoujo Rea screaming into a well that she hates her father taking nude pictures of her on each of her birthdays to record her growth. To keep him silent, she will do whatever he wants. Gotta try that, too!

Rea seems to really turn into a zombie in the end, though it’s not really shown if it’s real or a prank. Looking forward to the next episode! 4/5 Kurisus:
