The World Only God Knows S2 episode 1

Keima Katsuragi falling down due to being punched

Welcome to reality

I much anticipated this one. The continuation of The World Only God Knows (short: Kaminomi). I hoped it won’t lose it’s charme from the first season and it didn’t.

Since this is the first post on this blog about Kaminomi, here’s a quick and dirty copy&paste from ANN:

Plot Summary:

Keima Katsuragi is an avid galge gamer known at his school as “Otamega” (a derogatory term combining the words Otaku and Megane) and on the internet a “The Capturing God.” One day he receives an e-mail offering him a contract to “capture” girls. He accepts thinking it’s a challenge and a demon from Hell named Elsee appears. She asks for his help in capturing runaway spirits that are hiding in “real” girls. He refuses stating he only likes the girls from the game. She tells him that if he refuses then both of their heads will be cut off.

Keima's and Kasuga's worlds collide

What we lack in strength we make up for in numbers… and glitter!

This episode’s target is Kusunoki Kasuga, a girl of brute strength and great looks. However, in truth, she is a huge tsundere who suppresses her dere side so much that it manifests itself as a ghost-like image that comes out every time she gets enchanted by something cute, or if she has the hots for someone. Quite obviously, Keima is the one she has the hots for. Elsee decides to help out a bit (mainly because she finds just watching the whole thing boring) and suggests that the both of them go on a date.

I was actually quite shocked just how much the impression of Kasuga changes if she wears a nice dress instead of the school uniform or the karate garments.

What I am most curious about, however, is when this mysterious other demon girl shown at the end of season 1 will make her appearance. I wonder who she is. The sister of Elsee?

Oh, I almost forgot, even though I loved it so much: Dorodorodorodoro

Hanasaku Iroha episode 1

Hanasaku Iroha episode 1

That sentence sort of gives you a dirty impression

Matsumae Ohana

*glare*

I watched this anime on a whim, but it looks promising. The story revolves around Matsumae Ohana, a 16 year old girl. Her mother runs away with her boyfriend, who got into dept. It seems she doesn’t really care much about her daughter and leaves Ohana to her grandmother.

Ohana herself appears to lack motivation and doesn’t know what she wants to do in the future, yet is not content with her situation. Her friend, Ko (I didn’t pick up his full name), confesses to her on the night before she leaves for her grandmother.

When she arrives at her grandmother’s inn, Ohana pulles out some plants, calling them “weeds”. Those plants, however, are some kinda vegetable that Minko, a girl who works and lives in the inn, has been growing. Obviously, Minko doesn’t really like that and thus, greets Ohana with “Die”. Twice, in fact. Nako, another girl who works in the inn, pulls Minko away to prevent further harm. Her grandmother sees them and promtly has Ohana clean the veranda of the inn. Doing so, she runs into her uncle, who seems to hold a grudge against Ohana’s mother. After that, Ohana gets dragged away by Tomoe, the head waitress, who shows her around the inn.

Ohana wants to get in better terms with Minko and hangs her futon out of the window. Getting distracted by a strange guy, it falls down and hits a customer of the inn. Ohana gets scolded by her grandmother. Minko gets summoned, too. After she arrives, gran hits her as a punishment for not taking care of the futon herself.

Ohana finds this unfair and wants to get hit, too, since she is at fault. Telling her grandmother that, she gets three slaps. Minko, of course, still doesn’t like Ohana after all that.

Personally, I look forward to the next episode. There is a lot of potential for drama and character development. I’m curious how Ohana will adapt to the new situation, since so far, she didn’t really do well.

Nichijou episode 1

Nichijou explosion

Total annihilation

Shuugo is at fault for this one!
Nichijou is so random that no matter how hard you try, you can never explain in words just how random it is. Therefore, I’ll use less words and more images on this “review” (it can’t really be reviewed imho. You have to watch it yourself).

This is very serious!

This anime has quite a few funny moments to it, all of which are completely and utterly ridiculous. That’s part of the reason it’s funny, tho.

The sausage. It must be captured

There is no real ongoing story to it. But if you want some good laughs, Nichijou is for you.
