Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko episode 4

Meme in the fridge looking like a corpse

Human is dead, mismatch… oh wait, wrong anime

There doesn’t happen much this episode. Mainly storytelling and a bit character development. Makoto spent a few weeks in the hospital due to a broken arm (from when he fell into the sea with Erio).

Touwa Meme asks Makoto to warm her up with his body

Who would say no to that? Oh right, Makoto would…

So you figured it would be a good idea to give him some of yours? Hell, I like this girl.

Erio is cured from her delusions and even wishes she didn’t drop out of school because she thinks it’d be fun to attend school together with Makoto. Meme seems to approve of Makoto now. At least she isn’t against him interacting with Erio anymore. Makoto also appears to become popular with the two girls from his class I mentioned in a previous blog post: Maekawa and Ryuuko. Hopefully this doesn’t turn into a trainwreck harem anime. The jokes this episode were kind of weak, but let us hope things get better again next time.

Steins;Gate episode 5

Okarin holds Kurisu's hands

Okarin: “Kurisu, marry me!” Kurisu: “Yada!” Okarin: Orz
Kurisu looks great in a lab coat. She put it on and I was totally like “WOAH!”

Behold! This godly episode of Steins;Gate is… well… godly. Much screentime for Kurisu again. Kurisu = endless win, see for yourself:

Makise Kurisu is crying

Something in my brain broke down when I saw this. There are no words to describe this. ‘Nuff said.

So Suzu-chan really seems to be some kinda warrior. Her warrior look is scary as shit and yet, it makes her all the more interesting. It seems she somehow knows Makise Kurisu and enters a defensive position when she sees her. I guess that suggests Suzuha is from the future, but that puts even more questions on the table:

  • What does she have to do with the plot?
  • Why does she seem to be scared of Kurisu?
  • What the hell did Kurisu do to make Suzu react so drastically?

It appears Kurisu begins to accept that time travel does exist. However, there are still many loose ends regarding the story. Using the IBN 5100, they find documents in the weird database. Newspaper articles and experiment reports, mainly. SERN has evidently succeeded in creating a time machine already, but the humans sent into the past all died gel-banana style.

Okarin wants to get the Phone Microwave(name subject to change) working again and intends to finish the gel-problem before SERN does.

PS: That llama with the human face is really creepy.

I ordered some Spice & Wolf light novels

Spice and Wolf Horo and Lawerence

I am very eager to see if it’s as good as people say it is. I’m kind of spoiled since I watched the anime already, but that was a while back. For now, I ordered the first three volumes of the light novel.

Now that I think about it, those are the first books I bought since… god I don’t even remember what the last book I bought was, nor when I bought it. It probably has been many years.

Install Realtek wlan drivers on Fedora

Since I just had to deal with it myself, here a quick explaination as to how to get your wlan card to work on Fedora if it doesn’t work out of the box:

First, try installing kmod-staging. If you’re lucky, the driver is in there and you don’t have to do anything more than that.

You have to be root to execute the following commands. Simply type “su” to become root.

yum install kmod-staging

If that doesn’t work, download the correct driver for your card from the realtek website

If you don’t know what card you have, use the following command:

lspci

It’ll display all PCI devices. It should list your wlan card with it’s exact name.

After you downloaded and extracted the archive, go into the driver’s directory, open the readme file and follow the instructions. If you get errors and cannot execute the make command, do the following:

yum install kernel-headers kernel-devel
yum groupinstall "Development Tools"

Now reboot and try following the instructions of the readme file again. There shouldn’t be any problems now. If you are done, reboot and you should be able to use your wlan card.
